At BeyondMath, we are dedicated to nurturing the analytical and creative potential of Black youths. Our programs are designed to build confidence and encourage a love for math and aptitude for pursuing STEM based careers, by providing engaging, personalized lessons that meet students where they are. We offer math lessons for grades 1-12 and assist with school assignments, ensuring that each student has the support they need to excel in the classroom and beyond.

Our approach goes beyond traditional tutoring. By fostering an environment where questions are encouraged and creativity is celebrated, we help students see the value of math in solving real-world problems. Through consistent practice and guided mentorship, students develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a growth mindset—skills essential for future success in any field.

2. Leadership Workshops for Future Leaders

Our leadership workshops are curated to inspire the next generation of great leaders. We believe that leadership skills should be cultivated early, empowering youth to make a positive impact on their communities. Each workshop is designed to make learning fun, blending interactive games, guest speakers, case studies, prizes, and networking opportunities to create an unforgettable experience.

We invite experts from various fields to speak, giving youth direct insight into different career paths and life skills. These workshops don’t just teach leadership theory—they emphasize practical application, encouraging participants to step into leadership roles with confidence. Our goal is to help youth discover their strengths, develop a sense of responsibility, and build resilience as they grow into thoughtful and impactful leaders.

Our events emphasize social skills, teamwork, and collaboration. We make it relaxing for kids through live DJs, food, and dance.

3. Annual Beyond Math Competition

The Annual Beyond Math Competition is designed to challenge and motivate young minds, especially students aged 12 to 14. This competition encourages students to apply their math knowledge in innovative ways, developing perseverance, strategic thinking, and teamwork. By linking hard work with tangible rewards, we emphasize the importance of diligence and persistence in achieving one’s goals.

This competition also fosters critical thinking, problem solving, and responsibility, providing students with experiences that show how math connects to real-life situations. Winners receive financial prizes and other incentives, reinforcing the value of dedication and effort. The Beyond Math Competition is more than a contest—it’s an opportunity for students to showcase their skills, celebrate their achievements, and experience the joy of friendly competition.

4. Self-Discovery and Empowerment Workbooks

Our leadership and puzzle workbooks are crafted to guide youth on a journey of self-discovery and personal empowerment. These workbooks combine leadership exercises, self-reflective prompts, and fun puzzles designed to help youth understand their strengths, set personal goals, and explore areas for growth. Through engaging activities, young readers gain skills in problem-solving, time management, and self-reflection—essential tools for personal and academic success.

Each workbook is a resource for independent learning and growth, helping youth build a strong foundation in leadership, resilience, and self-confidence. By completing these activities, students develop a clearer sense of who they are and who they aspire to be, supporting their development into empowered, self-assured young leaders.

5. Mentorship and Role Modeling

At BeyondMath, we recognize the profound impact that mentors and role models can have on a young person’s life. Our Mentorship and Role Modeling Program is designed to connect youth with experienced professionals, community leaders, and positive role models who offer guidance, encouragement, and inspiration.

Through one-on-one mentorship sessions and group activities, our program creates a safe space where young people can explore their interests, set personal and academic goals, and receive invaluable advice from mentors who have walked similar paths. Mentors help youth develop essential life skills, including:

• Goal Setting and Planning: Mentors work with youth to identify their ambitions and create actionable steps to achieve them.
• Confidence Building: By sharing their own stories and challenges, mentors show that setbacks are part of growth, helping mentees build resilience and self-confidence.
• Career Exploration: Exposure to different career paths broadens youth’s understanding of possibilities and gives them tools to make informed decisions about their futures.

In addition to personal mentorship, we host Role Modeling Events that bring youth together with community leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals across various industries. These events are packed with engaging discussions, Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities, allowing youth to gain insight and learn directly from successful individuals in their fields of interest.
